Journey to Bethlehem

 12-9-11

Today we kept some kids after school and hung out for the night!  We played in the yard, had pizza and hot chocolate, and headed to Manhattan Beach for the Journey to Bethlehem.  It was fun to get all bundled up and to experience "Bethlehem."

Because of bad traffic and long lines to enter Bethlehem we didn't have much time to look around.  But we did get to see Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus.  The girls got to pet a camel and to see candles being made.  They even brought one home as a souvenir!  Esther and Shamir had great attitudes even though we had to leave earlier than we all wanted to.  I am so thankful we get to do things like this with our students.  It is super fun for them and us but it is also a great experience for them to be exposed to cool things that they normally don't get to experience.
