Today Mary and I tried making a layered red velvet cake. It was a trial run for a banquet that is coming up in March. I'm so glad I did a trial run because the cakes didn't really turn out so great. Our oven is a little off on the degrees so the cakes turned out a little bit burned. We threw one of them away (after we ate all the not burned middle... ;) and tomorrow we will make the frosting and stack them up. Thank goodness for trial runs!
